The Security Key NFC covers standard authentication with FIDO2 and U2F. The YubiKey 5 Series adds support for OTP, PIV, OpenPGP, and the Yubico Authenticator app — designed for more advanced use cases or corporate environments.
Do I need to buy two keys?
Yubico recommends always having a backup key. If you lose your main key without having a second one registered, you could lose access to your accounts. The safest approach is to register two keys from the beginning.
